The Palestinians have been repeatedly offered very generous deals in international conferences by Israel, but the Palestinian leadership is stubborn and has rejected them all. Ultimately, the Palestinian leaders do not want a Palestinian state, they want an Islamic caliphate. Just because Palestine's leadership is full of stubborn dickheads, doesn't give Israel the right to attack with ridiculously lopsided retaliatory force and inflict massive civilian casualties. A one state solution with Palestinians having full citizenship is probably the best solution. If Israel implemented a program targeting Palestinians to raise their standard of living, the Palestinians would probably be less likely to rebel.
