And you have no reason to be. 25,000 italians live safely and do business in Albania ( which is a considerable number for us btw) and more than 40,000 italians were saved by albanians in WW2 from not being killed by germans, after italian units were either defeated by albanian partizans or deserted. ( stayed in albanian houses for 2 years until 1945).

In 1920, after 22,000 italians were defeated by 2000 albanians in 12 hours in Vlora ( battle of Vlora), more than 16,000 italians returned safe back home.

Both times thousands of italians were saved, both times they came as invaders.

Albanians saved the italian peninsula from the ottoman invasion in the 15th century, put order in southern italy for 200 years by the Skanderebg campaign in 1462 and Arberesh albanians contributed greatly for their numbers , there is a reason why the first prime minister of the united italy for 2 mandates was an arberesh Albanian.

Even during mussolini time, relations were good more or less.

The only immportance of the portugese in world history is that they created the shithole of Brazil and after being free from arabs in 1250 or 1300, did nothing in terms of science or invention, even though unlike Albanians they went through Renaissance and Industrial revolution which are both great great ages.

Portuguese are 10 million and with a very tiny country they initiated the Age of Discovery. Portugal used to have the best navy in Europe (and probably in the whole world) in the XV and XVI centuries. Portuguese were responsible to invent or to aply a lot of the maritime instruments used to European discoveries. Portuguese were the first westerners to arrive in a LOT of countries. Even places like Tibet, Indonesia and Japan have some Portuguese influence or Portuguese monuments from the Age of Discovery. To not count the fact that most of South American territory that is actually part of Brazil was one of the richest places in the world in the XVIII and XIX centuries. Brazil is and always will be a lot more important than Albania (the place is more than 100x bigger).
