Default Arabic signboards removed in Turkish city

After fierce reactions by locals; the municipal police of Adana, a city in Turkey's mediterranean south coast, has taken down all signboards in Arabic alphabet, especially concentrated on areas with a sizeable population of Syrian immigrants. Due to its proximity with Syria; Adana has seen a massive rush of immigrants from there.

In the last referendum; the city voted against the proposal with 58 percent.

İt's like another symbol Erdogan's vision is rejected by people. Another point Erdogan vision and dream is rejected by people it's Atheism is on the rise with younger generations. Erdogan himself has an identity problem obviously and tries to Arabize a nation of Turks with Islamic rethoric. So Syrians immigrants come and they start spreading Arabic culture everywhere, same in İstanbul and the population rejects that. There is strong rejection among Turks. Islam will decline in the future because now when you say Islam to younger generations what comes to mind? War, Immigrants, families with plenty children, Arabization, MENA cultural supremacy etc.

Even Fatih almost voted No. Üsküdar, Eyüp voted no. These are places known for their strong commitment to Islam and conservative values.

I was born and lived in Fatih for years this is really surprising.

The reason why the panels were removed is, that it was not registered by the municipal office. Akhis, after a few days this will be allowed again. We also have to allow our Islamic faith to our Arab brothers in a more tolerant way. Arabic writing, is the writing of God, the writing of the Prophet, the writing of the good-natured people from the desert.

May the merciful Erdogan unite us with our lost brothers from the Arab world.

We want the sun rays of Islam in Turkey.

I hope Germany will abolish the dual citizenship of these arabized 'Turks' living there. No doubt they will stick to the German citizenship so we will get rid of their bullshit. These immigrants to Germany make me sick.

No man it's not how it works. The image of Arabs in Turkey it's not the image of richer and more educated Dubai or Doha Arabs who are just few in Istanbul or tourist resorts. The image of Arabs and Islam is built in low class way by Erdogan. Its Syrian refugees who come by millions and spread everywhere and who enter Universities without tests like Turks must do.
The guy is Georgian and his wife is Arab, so maybe he not aware but everybody doesnt have Arabs in his family. And the result in society this is that he has concept that Islam and Muslimness must be on par with Arab and MENA culture. So in the end of the day, Erdogan himself kills Islam in Turkey among younger generations. If Islam survived 20th century's challenges like phylosophical adversaries such as Marxist dialectism etc its because it was using Turkish identity and nationalism as shield.
Erdogan proudly destroyed that. So he believes that he can build smth new but it failed. April 16 was symbol. In today's Turkish society Islam and the Muslim identity became similar with immigration, poverty, wars, etc. Erdogan tries to spread his vision by crushing Atatürk's legacy INCLUDING Turkish identity and nationalism. So you see the backlash.

Please, don't blame your people's behavior in Germany and other countries in Europe on us since the Turks migrated in the 1960's as quest workers which at that time Turkey was particularity cut off from the rest of the Arab world until the rise of Erdogan. I don't see Persians, Iranians, Armenians, Assyrians and etc acting the same way as Turks, Afghans, Pakistanis and the North African migrants are acting up in Europe. If anything really, the ultra nationalist parties in Europe like the Golden Dawn, the BNP, Nord Front and etc are the only real solution to the migrant problems in Europe. I mean, really, nobody in Europe and the rest of the world cares if Turkey is a secular and democratic nations. It's as if your secular just to please and gain acceptance from others rather than simply minding your own business and affairs within the confinement of Turkey like what Ataurk himself attended. Haven't anyone ever tell you that respect is earned, not gained? What ever you people do in Turkey is not our or anyone's business.

Yea but these German Turks directly interfere in our business even though they have nothing to do with the country. They're even more idiotic than the Erdogan voters at home. Almost 800.000 Yes votes came from Europe. Germany and other countries revoking the dual citizenship rights of these idiots would be in the best interests of secular democratic people in Turkey because they will never be able to vote again.

Then stop bringing our people into you're mess then. It was Erdogan who keeps bombing the secular government of Syria and supporting the Islamist terrorist groups in Syria and beyond. Why isn't countries like Israel or the UAE, both of which are the least corrupt countries in the middle east, pocking in other peoples affairs? If you want the Syrian refugees in Turkey to go back home then fight on Assad's side.
