Default Federalism after Presidency? Erdogan's 2023 vision

In december 2013 Erdogan said in a CNN Türk tv show that his dream for Turkey it's a presidential system with several different states. He said:
'Look at Ottoman empire, there was Lazistan state, there was Kurdistan state and I dont understand why Turkish nationalists (MHP) who claim to be Ottomans followers dont want this, İ think Erdogan doesnt quite know what this is the Turkish nationalism content.

MHP leader Bahçeli supported his presidential process However he said no to Federal States system. 3 days before the referandum on Thursday he said Wolves will never accept the federal system. Many MHP supporters who hesitating voted NO after his speech and this made Erdogan victory phyrric with 51,4

How? Incorporate 7 million more Kurds then they will organize a independence referandum and it's gone? When you shift to federal state, the sub-states have a right for self-determination. If they organize a separation movement plus referandum, it will then be supported by the U.N. and the NATO. So moving to federalism it's legally (by international standards) opening way for separation of a country. But when you are unitarian state, by international law you are protected, UN or NATO cant interfere because legally no federal state can organize a 'independence referandum.

Turkish opposition MHP leader slams Erdoğan’s advisors for ‘federal structure’ remarks

Devlet Bahçeli, leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), has slammed advisors of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for suggesting a federal structure if “yes” votes prevail in the upcoming charter referendum.

“If advisors are speaking of a states [federal] structure and the president is not ruling this out, then what would the decision of the nationalists, who support a unitary structure, be only two days before the [referendum] said, Bahçeli during a live interview with Nazlı Çelik on private broadcaster NTV late on April 13.

“If my advisors spoke of a federal system, I would dismiss them,” he said.

MHP is the sole party in the parliament that backs the ruling Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) constitutional change amendment, which will be put on referendum on April 16 and seeks a shift to an executive presidential system from the current parliamentary one.

“The state is taking a step to found its own state. Happy April 16,” said Mehmet Uçum, a chief advisor to Erdoğan, with the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) interpreting his words as a suggestion to change the regime.

Another advisor, Şükrü Karatepe, suggested earlier a Chinese model.
