In all honesty though, the only thing I really get annoyed with when concerning the English language at least… people not being able to use the words Learn and Teach properly…

I mean every day you hear someone say, he learnt me to do this…

That is due to direct translation from Swedish to English I think .

That one is a bit more understandable to me. When most Americans say something like "should have," it's almost always contracted to "should've," which sounds an awful lot like "should of."

I couldn't get my head around how a preposition could be confused for a verb ...

Alot of people don't know what a preposition is. There just to stupid, its cause they should of been learned better in school.

This could be due to the fact that in some non-English languages a single word is used to describe these two -- thus affecting non-native speakers. In mine, Afrikaans, it is "leer", and can be used for both "teach" and "learn".

Well I know this, it is the same in Swedish... we only have one word for it, yet I have no problems with distinguishing between the two...

To be honest, I become far more irritated when reading ill-structured texts from a grammatical standpoint than I become from small errors as double spacing, etc, but I guess that is just me.

Why does something so simple confuse people all the time?

I'm not to hard on seeing the wrong punctuation and whatnot, I find all my anger goes to the retards who think it is acceptable to place American words on English signs.

If I'm not walking past a 'tanning center', then it is local council signs stating in 'meters' how far I have to go.

Then, of course, you have the brain dead morons who cannot spell properly.

"He learnt me to play snooker", "He is learning me how to play piano", etc..

Well I won’t tell natives how they should or should not speak their own language; it just goes against all my school-English.
