Monstrous cruelty was shown by three children in one of the zoos in the Czech Republic. The boys climbed into the aviary to the flamingo and began to beat the birds with stones. One flamingo was killed, another was seriously injured.

In the zoo of the Czech city of Jihlava, an attack on the flamingos took place, and the criminals were children aged 5, 6 and 8. The boys climbed over the fence and began to throw stones at the birds. The largest were the size of a baseball.

Commenting on the incident, representatives of the zoo talk about irreplaceable losses. Material damage is estimated at 50,000 CZK (slightly less than $ 2,000), and this amount will be recovered from the parents of hooligans. However, money can not improve the situation. As a result of the attack, one flamingo was killed, and another is now being treated for severe injuries. In addition, the remaining birds in the enclosure are in a state of severe stress, and this is especially dangerous given the upcoming mating season. Ornithologists do not exclude that many of the survivors of the flamingo attack this year will not multiply.

The killed flamingo was at the peak of its physical activity: at the age of 16 he had a constant pair and eight chicks. He survived the catastrophic flood that occurred in 2002 at the Prague Zoo, but his new home in Jihlava was not a safe place.
