Some of you might hear about sapper shovel, our legendary weapon of spetsnaz - these russians are so mad, so may use ewerything as weapon.

But russians were more mad, thay you even can imagine - they invented such stuff











37-mm mortar. Was invented in 1937-38. weight of the shovel - 1,5 kg, of the mine - 0,5 kg.
The minimum range of fire from the weapon was - 60 m, and the maximum - 250 m.
It was occasionaly used in 1940 in finnish war and in 1942 in great patriotic war. Germanians named it as «Russischer Spatengranatwerfer».

But! dark russian genius haven't borders and similar stuff was reinvented in 1981. As shovel-grenade launcher "Variant" with grenades "vog-25".

It would probably work well as a light mortar but digging with a shovel which's handle is that thick in diameter will be hell.

Beautiful design. The question is can you burrow the shove head in the dirt instead of holding it manually, to prevent defective shell detonation (affecting 1 in 100,000 shells)?

easily/ pay your attention on the picture: lower detail was in barrel and used as bung
