Will the Roma ever be a integrated minority and how long will it take?

Im not sure whether they ever will because "Gypsy" (in the negative sense non-roma use it to describe roma) is very strong inherent to them, could they ever be not "Gypsies" but still be Romani?

The benefits are only recently, many roma still live on marginalisation (in card board houses outside the town some municipalities built walls around their roma settlements and at night racists attack the roma and some even get killed). The welfare etc. is recent and i dont know how long it will last. I think it would be in the benefit of roma to empower themselfes and become more intelligent and more industrious. I dont know how many roma realise that.

They will not become integrated because they have no desire to . They prefer doing things as is. They are like the migrants who refuse assimilation and will fight you if you try and push them to embrace there country. And that will continuously hurt them whether they want to accept this or not .

A good example is Romania, where Gypsies have very big influence on the society, because of their big population. I don't think they will ever be integrated. They are too disprespectful of human laws.

Few months ago in Rome, a gypsy family (mother, father and 12 sons!) was put in a council house given them from the Municipality. As soon as the notice started to spread there was a popular rebellion in the area, nobody wanted them as neighbours. As usual the leftists started to defend the gypsy family, depicting them as innocent martyrs; they were even received by Pope Francis. But few time later it turns out that the man even if he resulted unemployed was the holder of 27 cars, among which brand new BMW and Mercedes, probably all stolen.
