Viriato has more Subsaharan and North African admixture than North Italians, but I haven't seen enough South Italian results to draw a conclusion

Iberians have more SSA + North African, and on the islands some of the SSA is recent.
Italians, even the north but especially the south, have more West Asian input (Levant, Caucasus, Mesopotamia), which reaches its high point in Calabria and Sicily.

The SSA in iberia is more ancient so it Dosent pop up in the phenotype while the SSA in italy comes from north africans and is more new. compared to iberia who got it direct from sub Sahara.

I've heard that Iberians on average have more Subsaharan and North African admixture, but when I look at some South Italian photos they look very North African admixed as well. Iberia has many Viriatoids who seem to have North African admixture and Italy has many Sikeliotoids.

I doubt you have ever been to either place.
