Never been to Iceland to be honest. I have been to two Canary Islands. Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

How much is annual precipitation in your city ? I curious.
Edit: I checked, your city in Belgium is quite less rainy than my hometown in Croatia (848.4 vs 1,552.4 mm ) so be careful to call all mediterranean places sunny
