Default Is some Russian folk music Greek/Byzantine influenced?

I have finally begun trying to find Russian folk music, and much of it sounds Greek influenced.

First link is Russian folk music synthesized on the computer by an American but it sounds Greek-like.

My assumption is music like that originated in Greece and spread into the Slavic regions and even southern Italy. It also sounds a bit like some Sicilian and south Italian music. So I think it has to be Byzantine.

Byzantines had long time intimacy with persians. Also the superior persian culture impacted heavy in arabs and turks.

That isn't my question. I want to know why the Russian folk music in those links sounds similar to Greek.

Thats foolish to say. All IE populations had different variations of the same ancestral tones and rythm.

Balalaika has some sound similarities with Bouzuki, and similar melodies and rhythms will result similar sound. And this low quality synthetization will confuse the sound of instruments.

I didn't mean ALL Russian music. But I have also heard Jewish music from Poland, Ukrainian music, etc. with the same sound. So I figured it had to be of Byzantine origin and spread north.
