Why are you obsessed with Greeks?

Honest question. I have noticed Turks being obsessed with Greeks on many social media, mainly YouTube and Reddit.

You always try to compare yourselves with Greeks, you say stupid things like "Greeks are so similar to us, their food their music, everything". Let me tell you what, the little similarities in food and music are because of the population exchange of 1923, since the christian Anatolians that came here brought their own stuff.

On reddit, Turks always try to tie themselves to Greeks by claiming that they have Greek descent, when in reality, European genetics in Turks come from Bosniaks, Bulgarians and Albanians. They say that Turkish culture is very similar to the Greek culture, even though they know that's bullshit. In Turkey, people and families are very conservative and girls get beaten for wearing 'unappropriate' clothes, to give an example. They say a lot of stupid stuff as well but the're too many to post here.

What's the problem? Are you ashamed of being Turks and you try to Europeanize yourselves by comparing yourselves with the Greeks?

The funny thing is that you never compare yourselves to the Bosniaks, to the Bulgarians, to the Serbs, the Albanians etc. You only compare yourselves to the Greeks.

The majority of European ancestry in Turkey, is Greek. There were Greeks way before there was a Turkey, but there would be no Turkey without Greece.

No. When the Ottomans conquerd Anatolia many Greeks of the western coast fled to Greece. The last slaughters and expulsions happened with the Great Fire of Smyrna.
