I interpret this meeting as there will be a minor change in politics of USA for the benefit of Turkey.

I and many of us waiting that handshake moment for a week now. Finaly... Erdoğan was happy it seems for now

Republicans usually are not against Turkish interests and work well with us. Democrats are one thing. They brought up this thing called Greater Middle East Project; forcing Turkey into the MENA theater to be a role model of so-called Muslim democracy, which also damaged our strictly non-religious secular regime. That's why we have come to this point after all.

Turkey should never have an aim of being a role model. A role model for the MENA should be an Arab country, like Tunisia. And we should turn back to our old frosty approach towards the region.

I hope Trump will not pursue such an agenda. And from my own observation; Republicans do not seem like that type.

I will never forgive the Democrat governments of America for diminishing our traditional values rooted in Republican Kemalist reforms. And that also includes Bush, the pseudo-Republican. They even qualify as the enemies of us Kemalists for what they did to this country.

Recently the relationship between the two was not that good.
