Yes, true. Culture bonds us. I definitely have more in common with a southern black person than anyone my race in California or Ny. That's why when I go to the north, I can't find a southern food joint, I find a soul food joint, because soul food is just basic southern food that we all eat and cook down south, created by three ethnic groups: whites, blacks and Amerindians.
But some southern foods have migrated out of the south and other parts of the country eat our foods like barbecue and fried chicken.

Certainly. I've known a lot of Southern Blacks, many are very traditional. There are ghetto ones, but even the ones who are trashy, don't seem to be as mean spirited as the Ghetto Black people in the inner cities.
A lot of Southern Black people are church going people, who take care of their houses, have pride and are warm, friendly people.

Yes, it's just out of southern pride. That's all anyone uses it for down here. It's just liberals and most blacks that think otherwise. I don't usually flaunt the rebel flag, but I don't see a problem with it. Mississippi is the last state with the rebel flag in the state flag. And they voted to keep it. Both whites and blacks in Mississippi voted to keep it. The rebel flag used to be in a couple state flags down south, but were removed in the name of political correctness.
Get this, New Orleans removed the names of over 20 local historic whites (including white Creoles like Gayarré, Beauregard and de Boré) from schools and replaced them with black names. It was political correctness again. Saying they had ties to the confederacy or slavery. But damn, wtf. What they gonna do, tear down half of New Orleans cuz they had slave quarters on the backs of large houses? It's ridiculous.

There were many that were more like family than slaves. There are stories down here in Louisiana that many slaves were treated fairly and was like part of the family almost. Not all slaves were treated poorly. So many fought for the south proudly. And those blacks that take pride do it because their ancestors fought bravely.

Thats mainly rural blacks like that down here. In the cities they are ghetto as hell. New Orleans blacks, OMG shoot'em up bang bang. Lol. My friends dad is from the city, but white flighted out to the suburbs back in the 70's and his old white neighborhood where he grew is black now and dangerous as hell and he refers to it as "uzi land"
