    It's like most basic geography.

Serbs were Prefects in Byzantine Empire for 600 years, married Roman/Byzantine Royalty, even the Last Orthodox Emperor was 50% Serb Constantine XI.

    It's not Greeks, it's you.

Serbs were only Orthodox and copied Byzantine architecture and symbols. That's it. They were enemies of the Byzantines for most of the time and sided with the Turks in the Siege of Constantinople. They have nothing to do with the Byzantine Empire, but their nationalists try to "appropriate" Greek history like their Fyromian brothers do.

You know very little of "Byzantine Empire", those "Byzantines" live mostly in Serbia nowdays (Southern Part), just because they don't speak Greek like they
used to doesn't make them less "Byzantine".

It is more appropriate to say that modern Greece has nothing in common with Byzantine Roman Empire.

You nation has Westernized itself and became German (which makes you happy I suppose) for you do belong to them anyway.

I'm not going to debate with you, I've seen your comments here and you sound like a delusional idiot.

Greece was always Western. Greece and Rome were the places where the Western Civilization began.

Yes, until Germanic Civilization destroyed it.

You don't have to argue with me, just keep in mind.. Rome and Greece were always about Religion, and modern "Western world" ISN'T

Just keep running after them, you will one day figure out how unimportant Greeks are TO THEM.

    See you around.

I feel very Orthodox Christian in everything I try to do right. I also feel very national Hellenic religion in some cases as well. It does not dictate my everyday life but I follow the Sacraments and the Calendar.

My wife takes our kids to church at least once per fortnight - I go at least once per month as a family outing on a Sunday. Love it.

Greek Orthodox = Power of positive thinking and on going development.

    Elder Pasios

We must always be careful and constantly question the nature of our thoughts. When someone is preoccupied and trusts his own way of thinking, he becomes vulnerable to the devil, who is capable of transforming us into sly persons, even when we are honest by nature.
n the beginning, we should willingly try to develop positive thoughts, which will gradually lead us to the perfect good, God, to whom belongs every glory, honor and worship; on the contrary, to us belongs only the humility of our conceited attitude.
Why wouldn't I want my family to be positive confident thinkers?
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph. 6:12

Definition of untrustworthy and loose character are those that don't believe in God.

The younger Greek generation hardly gives a fuck about Christianity, even though they were baptised e.t.c. Of course you get the odd goofball giving out his 400 Euro monthly salary to buy the books of Paisius.

The older generations consider Greek Orthodoxy as part of their national identity.

Before anyone says "You don't live in the country of Greece yadayada", I did live there for a significant amount of years so suck it.

Greece is Balkan. Culturally, geographically, historically.

Few young people care about religion, but more diasporans feel it is an important part of their identity.
