We had a school shooting once in the UK. That was one school shooting too many and something we could never allow to happen again. It happened in Scotland during the Dunblane Massacre and shocked the world. Angry parents and teachers formed The Snowdrop Campaign and there was a lot of public outcry urging the government to ban guns. The petitions were eventually successful and we've never had another school shooting since then.

SA80s are available in the US for purchase, I have shot one before, and full auto L85s.
I like guns and shooting, I intend to move away from this restrictive state one day and live near a gun range.
Currently, I dont even technically own a handgun, because I cant at 20, by California law (well, I could buy one made before 1900, but carrying around an old block-model C96 Mauser wouldnt be practical). I do own multiple shotguns, mostly of the same model for home defense and a couple old rifles.

I never understood that Murican fetish for guns. Is the USA so dangerous that you civilians need to constantly carry a weapon to save your hide?
