30 years to Mathias Rust's flight

On May 28, 1987 at Red Square the plane of the 18-year-old German fellow Mathias Rust has landed.

I remember that day, I was living in Germany then. It was a Saturday evening. The German TV was to broadcast King Kong, and me and my friend were very upset because they cancelled it at the last minute. We had a newsflash instead. We were 9 years old and not aware we were living the last historic moment before the fall of the Berlin wall.

We didn't miss anything. King Kong was the lousy version John Guillermin directed in 1976.
