I would not criticise vegetarianism for others. If it suits you, by all means, pursue it. Unfortunately, I do not flourish on it. unless I stoke up on carbohydrates, which is more unhealthy than meat-eating, I have very little energy on a vegetarian diet.
Our dentition shows that we humans are omnivores, i.e. we CAN eat both vegetables and meat. I strongly suspect, however, that what one SHOULD eat varies from individual to individual. I am morally opposed to killing sentient organisms in order to stay alive, as carnivores MUST, but, I am convinced that my well-being requires animal protein.

I wouldn't do it, but I suppose it can be healthy. I'd worry about protein intake though.

This is the bugaboo of the vegetarian debate and has been summarily answered on numerous occasions. Soy has many times more protein than meat and there are a prolific number of sources where one may get non-animal protein. Soy, beans, nuts, tofu, seitan, quinoa, etc.

I think a vegetarian diet (even a vegan one if it is done properly) is healthier than a typical meat-eating diet. Switching to a diet free of animal products has been shown to greatly reduce the risk of the top causes of death for Americans (heart disease, cancer, kidney and liver failure, etc.), and can even cure these ailments after they have been developed.

I personally am not a vegetarian, but I was one for a year several years ago. I think that enjoying meat is one of life's great pleasures, but when I am older I plan on switching to a mostly vegetarian if not completely vegetarian diet.

vegetarian can basically mean anything that is not a animal product. you could even live on sodas and chips. Besides earth has only limited amount of animals for us to eat and limited amount of space for agriculture, what you maybe mean is a plant based diet consisting mostly of greens , rice , potatoes, fruits etc. and drinking water. Please, convince us how that's not healthy as we're talking about a list of the healthiest foods on the planet where meat, eggs, cow milk etc are not even listed lmao

We're not hunter gatherers anymore. And when we've been it's mostly been gathering (gathering veggies) . And when we went out hunting we didnt always get meat . So it's not something we're used for our bodies to get all the time like today. Our bodies also adopted to fasting.Meat in ancient times was seen as a luxury that only the richest could afford and interesting they were the fattest and sickest .

You don't even address the biological problems we are facing due to overconsumption of animal products. Animals that are on the verge of extinction because of us. Genetic food engineering .. the boom of human diseases, etc it's not just the fact that it's fucking disgusting to eat as there's a lot of shit we eat that is disgusting a sugars , processed food , sodas , candy etc

A healthy diet has always been a plant based diet. No, it doesn't turn you into a saint but certainly makes you feel better

I don't care if you are a vegan or vegetarian but don't try to make me feel bad for eating meat. Also, if I'm cooking or grilling out for a group of people - NO I DO NOT HAVE A GODDAMN VEGETARIAN OPTION FOR YOU. Either adapt or go hungry, I have no time for your complaints.

Soy per se is not bad. This is a reasonable treatment of the issue. There is a lot of hysterical misinformation out there.
