Romance / Latin influence on England?

It seems that most old Germanic words in Romance languages came via late Latin. That is why they can be found in most western Romance languages (guerra, etc.)

I've found one very common word in Catalan that probably came directly from Germanic: estona, means "while, little time". In modern German you can find Stunde "hour". In the other Romance languages, the word seems to come from Latin: tempinho in Portuguese, rato in Spanish, moment in French, momento/po di tempo in Italian, etc.

In standard italian can be: momento, attimo, istante, poco tempo (as you wrote) and "come un soffio" (literally: like a whisper).
