And the comparison is more meaningless still, besides everything being cheap in Portugal, mostly tourists are part of the European Union.

I think they should take deaths caused by violent crimes as the more significant factor of unsafety by far.

The feeling of insecurity someone have visiting any Brazilian city is far larger than almost everywhere in USA. Even if you take in consideration the areas inhabited by Blacks in USA, I still think they are safer than most areas in Brazil, even White, mostly White ones.

Brazil seems to be the most violent country outside Sub-Saharan Africa in the whole world. It's a whole society driven mad by paranoia and structural violence. Actually it's the only thing you could expect from a hierarchical society built on slavery and privilege. A country with no wars with more mass killings than Syria or Iraq, what a mess.

I can't wait to go to the Acores, and Porto. Good to know it's so safe! Great place to holiday! Don't pay attention to Rainbowmimi, if it isn't in Britney Spears videos, or Justin Bieber then it isn't relevant to Rainbowmimi.

According to the data that you have sent, most of the tourists in Portugal are part of the European union. It is not expensive to catch a train or whatever, from Paris to Portugal and not even documents you need because of the EU. While, an European needs a lot of money and visa to come to Brazil, because 1 kg of rice here is more expensive than buy a house in Portugal, and a lot of tourits come to Copacabana palace.

"Wrong again, Brazil is overall cheaper than Portugal."

Are you dumb or pretend to be?
Portugal is a small country. Brazil is a big country with a huge social differences. The destination of the tourists is Copacabana or Ipanema, you by the case knows how much it costs to live a day there?

The tourists who come to Brazil do not look for favelas, they want to spend a day in the Copacabana palace and this costs a lot money.

Facts are facts, pretty pointless to try to deny them. Also Brazil is not only two or three cities.

Some other interesting facts about the "irrelevant" nation of Portugal when compared to the super relevant Brazil:

    YDNA: R1b-L21 > DF13 > S1051 > FGC17906 > FGC17907 > FGC17866

    lolz.

It costs more to fly to Oporto. I know cuz I fly to Oporto instead of Madrid when I go to visit family in Galicia (It's quicker that way). And Oporto isn't a big time tourist designation.

Your quote also doesn't give the impression you think it does. That both Bazilian cities are the most expensive cities in Latin America (certainly not the Western hemisphere; it's more expensive to live in Cleveland, for fuck's sake) doesn't say much. Another thing to note is much of the tourism is a consequence of the sex trade.

Another issue besides crime is the corruption. This is why I always bet against non-Brazilians fighting Brazilians in UFC fights that take place in Brazil if I'm certain it will come down to the judges deciding the winner. Vitor Belfort clearly should have lost against Marquardt on Saturday but the judges gave it to Belfort because he's Brazilian. I wish the UFC would put on more shows in Brazil so I can win more money off of Brazilians validating stereotypes.
