Recently almost all pizza via Dominos and other companies have dressings or terrible sauces poured upon the Pizza. Probably trying to disguise the blandness of their offerings and their minimal toppings keeping the price low.

True pizza is very simple. Dough made at least one day ahead to allow the proper texture and flavor to develop. Hand stretch no machines. Quality flour and ingredients throughout. There doesn't have to be tomato sauce but the cheese should be high quality and the toppings should not overwhelm. Extra virgin olive oil should be used. The dough should be charred nicely but not burnt. It should not be thick and puffy but it should have a great texture while at the same time being thin. The crown/Crust of the pizza should be the most puffed up part. When tomato sauce is used it should also be fresh and simple extra virgin olive oil high quality tomato (I make mine verace napoletana so I use Neapolitan while tomatoes) crushed, the tiniest hint of garlic and slight hint of basil, and salt. I also use a bit of pecorino in my pizze but that is the Sardinian in me.
