It's better this way. You've only ever had your DNA tested really once by ftdna and your results on gedmatch may be different with the new results. DNA testing is still limited until they test our entire genome instead of only certain snps. So the more your DNA is analyzed by different companies the better idea you'll get of your over all genome. Have you gotten the kit yet?
