Forum homophobes: What motivates your homophobia?

People spend so much time trying to condemn homophobia and it should be, but I want to understand it. I have long believed religion, and fear of being gay, are reasons that motivate 90% of it.

To those of you who are homophobic, what motivates it? Why are you homophobic? Help me understand.

I'm an atheist and faggots are still bad news. Big time. Disease-ridden, anti-traditional, perverted and so on. I've come across like 3-4 faggots in my lifetime and every single one was annoying, self-important and flamboyant.

Insecurity.

Homossexuality is natural as eating and shitting.

But I must admit that I think that this LGBT 'culture' of celebrities, gay lobby and pure sexuality is degenerate. I have some gay friends, but many times I avoid contact with them because I have no patience for that kind of behavior.

No problem with normal (i.e. people who acts like their sexuality is just as relevant as their eye colours) gays though.

Even some LGBT people agree with you on this. I go back and forth: I definitely think elements of LGBT culture you see at pride, such as men wearing thongs and twerking in the street is excessive and frankly casts a bad light on us all.
