Hello lads and lasses!
I've recently created an account here and decided to introduce myself. I'm a 22 year old Eastern European male living in Ireland. I'm originally from Lithuania, it's hard to describe my ethnic background, because I still haven't gotten around getting the 22andme done, so I just put Balto-Slavic, since I do believe that I have certain amount of Russian blood in me, even if I do come from the most ethnically clean part of the country. During my visit in Russia I got a lot of people saying that I look somewhat Ukrainian, hehe go figure, eh ? As you might have guessed I'm quite a Slavophile, I do love their culture and everything related to them. I see Slavs as my brothers and in general I think that we should stick together, even, if we had a few rough patches in our past.
As I mentioned before I've moved to Ireland around 11 months ago. Why did I move here, well, to be fair, I don't know. I just wanted to get away from the old country, from the group thinking, see what's more out there in the world and not end up like the rest of your coworkers who graduated from the same school, had the same things in common etc. How I find here ? It's alright, I won't lie I had a few "racist" things said against me, a few times the Gardai (Irish Police) have been called on me, but apart from that it's alright. I don't go around and cry how the whole world is racist and is bringing me down. I'm a warrior type person and what I've learned in the last year is that it all boils down to this - "how bad do you want it ?" I've learned that you can achieve pretty much anything, you just have to put in some effort. Maybe that's the true reason why I am here, a little bit of suffering builds character and I do like adventures.
My hobbies are fairly ordinary. I like reading, but sadly I haven't been doing a lot of it lately. I like cars, I like working on them, though I'm no mechanic. I enjoy mathematics, which I only started to really like after becoming a college student, when we started to go more into Calculus. History is also is one of my interests, though I tend to read more about political "science", politics, learning about ideologies, in general I like analyzing different ideas and I do believe that I can see the picture from different perspectives. And military, I have an incredible passion for military service, military equipment and everything related to it. I have quite a few officers and enlisted soldiers in my blood line and I guess that's the reason why I'm such a "hawk"
I'm a STEM graduate that is going back to school here in Ireland this fall, I'm currently employed, very soon will be part of the Irish Reserve Defence Forces and slowly, but surely working on my Gaeilge. And lastly, my political views are hard to describe, I used to be quite a vocal socialist, but I have nothing in common with the modern left, I wouldn't say that I'm alt-right either. I have libertarian - conservative leanings when it comes to politics and believe in ethno nationalism over civic nationalism. I stand firmly with "Europe for Europeans", even if I'm an immigrant, but I respect the law of the land and are a positive contributor to society, and I don't believe, that a passport makes someone from the Middle East or Africa European.
Sorry for the long rant, just wanted to introduce myself and give somewhat of a picture of myself. I might not be a very active use here, but who knows
