Found a good Christian, pro-Crusading channel who explains the fasinating history of the Crusades in detail..

Then the Crusaders army start besieging Antioch which has strong walls. The Turkish garrison stand firm and 7 months passed the Franks cant breach or enter the city until... ARMENIAN INTERVENTION.

A Armenian named Firouz, who pretended to convert Islamic stayed in the city and given mission to protect a tower in the city walls. He holds grudges against Turks and Yaghi Siyan (Seljuk chief of Antioch). He secretely takes Crusaders inside and the massacre of Turks start... Antioch falls after 8 months.
Not only that, the old Yaghi Siyan is sent away from city by his men, very old men gets away... But then some other Armenian peasants recognise him and behead him (he fell from his horse) and bring the Turk's head to Crusaders.

Anyway imo if the Armenians slowed down the eventual Islamic hordes onslaught of pre non Islamic Anatolia then good on them. The Khazars were good at keeping the Islamic Arabs out too.
Dont expect in a predominantly non Muslim forum to find support for Islamic conquerors over those that stood against them.

The Mongol elimination of Abbasid was also like Christian thing. In fact Mongols were tolerants of religion and Islam too but Hulagu was special hater of Islam. Historians think its because his wife and best general Ketbogha were Nestorians converts and pushed him to attack Muslims without pity.
Also Crusaders controlled lands in Levant from 1099 until 1290. 200 years is long time and changed many things in history course. Crusading institution was born and this is how Spain was removed the Moors and German crusaders organised North Crusades against Balts and Wend Slavs. So it was important in Western civilisation history but since you are eastern Orthodox (pretending half Scandinavian)you wouldnt care İ guess.

Norway wasn't part of "western civilization" until quite recent in history. Norwegians today are protestants and they used to be celtic christians. In fact Swedes and even Norwegians themselves went on "Crusades" against Norwegians. I guess most would call it "Christianization" but it's the same damn thing. One Norwegian was also a famous crusader. Sigurd the crusader and Iberians are probably not so fond of him if they really know what he did there.... Many examples of crusaders not really having a objective to "protect christian Europe from Muslims". Again, where were the crusaders when the balkan states needed help from your brown folks? Nowhere since they were "catholic" and "western". The help they gave was beyond pitiful. Most people we think of as saviors of Europe against muslims weren't really crusaders. They defended their homeland and sometimes claimed it to be a holy endeavor, but they weren't like the Knights Templar crusaders.
