"For the French, the difference between the number of hours required (35) and the number of hours actually worked (37 and a half) is two and a half hours, which is more than the EU average."

Productivity matters more than working hours though, because countries with higher technologies can produce more goods in shorter amount of time.

Yes, productivity is what matters but it is not the first time this moron is making nonsense analogies about the work ethic of Southerners. When he leaves his mommy house in his late 30 years old of age he probably doesn't even know how to replace a lamp or to change a car wheel. Southerners at least know how to use their hands.

This is a satyrical video but pretty much summarizes how Portuguese workers are seen abroad and it is most definitely not as lazy party animals.

I don't know where the stereotype about lazy southerners comes from. Many working class Portugese migrated to France I know, and they are hard working minority there. Sometimes people confuse regions that have quite disorganized local governments (like southern Italy does) with laziness, and from my experience such stereotypes are totally false.

I just joked and I get insult in return. Chill out. However, you can't deny how there's a parallel with the culture. Otherwise I know the staistic is unemployment (shaky economy) and not laziness.

You never miss an opportunity to "joke" on your Southerner counterparts. As we say in Portugal "quem vai ŕ guerra, dá e leva". Free translation "who goes to war, beats and gets beaten".

Nah. You're just too serious about your 'national pride' in such a humourless way even your countrymen might find it unusual.

The lack of national pride present among "superior Germanic" Belgium is turning it into a lovely place.

No thanks, I will keep my humorless pride.
