Default Sack of Jerusalem in 1244 and battle of La Forbie

In 1240s as Khwarezmian Turks (Turkmens) were slayed by Genghis Khan's advancing Mongol hordes, their state stretching from Afghanistan to Azerbaijan was disintegrated.

The event cause great change in history like massive hordes of Turcomans flooding Asia Minor and contribution to Turkification of Anatolia (Ottoman dynasty builders came with that wave btw. However in the same time, Khwarezmian warriors started move west. Some arrived in Levant. Overlooking agreements and peace between Ayyubid Muslims and the Crusaders Kingdom, in 1244 the Khwarezmian army storms Jerusalem in quick and unexpected attack.
Fortifications cant stop them, Turkic cavalry enters the city. Jerusalem (except religious sites of 3 religions) is almost entirely burnt and destroyed.

Later Ayyubid divided as Syrians and Egyptians seek alliance with Khwarezm Turks. Egyptians win and make alliance with Khwarezmians. Syrian Ayyubids ally with Crusaders. An important but not so known battle organised in Crusaders land near village La Forbie (French name İ guess). Turks-Egyptians defeated Syrians-Crusaders. Sometimes its considered as the true disaster of Crusaders in Orient as this is last time they could gather army and wage war in open area.
After losing Jerusalem to Saladin and Hattin battle of 1187, Crusaders could still recover with English King Richard's intervention and victories against Saladin but after La Forbie battle, the Crusaders never recovered.
