In all patrs were going legitimations, but even without legitmation existed oficially recognized so
called "not legitymized szlachta" yet until XXth century (al least in Congressland). In 1921 march
constitution only declared, that do not recognized titles and privilegdes, but until the end of IIRP
funcioned still normal yeomen szlachta, fideocomisied latifundias, and in official documats happned
that arictocratic titles were allowed or noble status was mention (f. e. in the documentation from
comassation of the land, where nobles lived in some areas together - yet in 1930s).

In 1945 commies made an agrar reform destroing last latifundias
and granges, but up to 1960-70s still had problems with yeomens.

Everybody btw knew, who is who, especially if you were a former owner
of the Palace in Wianów or a traditional not wanting to be PGRized yeomen.

Hunted you could be also by a miliceman, when he legitimized
you and you had the surname which was saying everything,
even if you were not in your own traditional area.

And let me tell the way in which the "szlachta" lost status. It's simple as fuck: germanians just asked to confirm one.
But from other side unholy russian empire didn't claim for it (in this reason only there was so many szlachta in russian empire).

Really, ewery shit in rags from nearest ditch might come and say "i'm the szlachta, motherfuckers!".
And be sent in army, cause all nobles must serve in. And on this example we may see polish "gonor" in action.
It's like a "honour", but in ridicilous way. So, poles gave us some numbers of heroes, but much more bigger quantity on deserters in kavkaz tribes and turkey.
