80 years to non-stop flight of crew of Valery Chkalov through the North Pole

80 years ago Chkalov − Baydukov − Belyakov has been made by crew the first-ever transarctic non-stop flight of the USSR - the USA.Chkalova, Baydukova, Belyakova in the USA of the Soviet pilots met as heroes, they were welcomed by the president Roosevelt.
The general of the U.S. Air Force George Marchal who has met by the first pilots on the American earth and accepted them at home, subsequently has promoted on service and became the Secretary of State.
On June 19 the plane has reached the coast of Canada, but to reach San Francisco it was impossible because of a lack of fuel. On June 20 the plane has made landing in Pearson's airfield in the American Vancouver. Thus flight of ANT-25 continued 63 hours 16 minutes, length of a route has made about 9 thousand km which more than a half I lay over a surface of the water and ices. Flight became the first aviatravel through the North Pole.
