But that makes just a small part of her ancestors. She's probably the same genetically as the rest of Italians from that region, maybe Jewish admixture is integrated in the Southern Italian genome given the long history of contacts between the two populations.

Apulians look like a large part of their ancestry is transplanted Greek, and they're much less MENA than Sicilians. I haven't seen a Calabrese yet.

Apulians have significant Ionian Greek heritage, while Calabrese and Sicilians derive their Greek ancestry from Dorian and Mycenaean Greeks who seem to be more Southern shifted genetically given the recent study on Griko DNA. Apulians also have significant Aberesche and some Balkan (Croat) admixture.

Sicilians also have Levantine and North African and apparently more Bronze Age Caucasus. But they do have Greek also, and likely more ancestry from elsewhere in Italy.

SE Sicily should be like the Apulians because the Greek root is Doric and they have less MENA.

No, it was Taranto. Otranto experienced something similiar in 1480-1481 with Ottomans.

Even all of southern Calabria was Greek speaking until the 17th century!

Maybe, but I do think the genetic impact was not as strong as in Apulia. Calabrese also have higher Middle Eastern influence like what Sicilians have, which Apulians do not.

The Sicilian results I have posted are a better guess as to what Calabrese would get. 40-50% Greek, 30% combined MENA and the rest Italian.
