Hey man,
That's the standard question I got from every Turk I ever befriended.
The answer is simple. It's not 1963 anymore, lots of things changed and people just want to move on. At the end of the day, both Greek and Turkish Cypriots are considered European citizens now and lots of Turkish and Greek Cypriots cross the green line daily. Both sides have their trouble makers but noone got butchered so far.
I can even tell you the story of what happened the first time my father did business with a Turkish Cypriot in 2004 when the line opened, but in a PM. Just pm me.
