Let's be honest. Scandinavians are in no way European ''elite'', especially not Norwegians. This are isolated, culturally irrelavant countries far from the heart of European civilisation.
Being Italian is more prestige than being Norwegian. Now, I don't undereastimate these countries as they are among continent's wealthiest and most civilized today, but this is how the ranking works in Europe.
Not all ethnicities are equally ranked.

Brits, French, Germans and Italians are first-tier European ethncities. Scandinavians aren't nowhere close to them. And even among them is a ranking- from Sweden and Denmark to Norway and Iceland.
Netherlands in the only smaller ''northern'' country that carries lot of weight and relevance.

Average European doesn't watch on other Europeans from nordicist, neo-nazi perspective but from historical and cultural relavance, and in this northern Europeans don't fare too well with the southerners.

southern europeans and '"mena" are obviously different looking for the most part . there is some overlap especially to west asia (caucasus , turkey , north/west iran , north levant) and coastal north africa (especially tunisia algeria) due to these reasons:

- Caucasian race

- Geographical Proximity

- Mediterranean and Caucasus components (and phenotypes) which are the main components in west asians
