Alpines have been considered by the pioneer typologists as a reduced CM type by a sedentary lifestyle.

Alpine type has similar broadened face as an unreduced CM but the features are softened,more roundish than square.Usually the brow ridge is not pronounced,giving the very typical for alpine vertical forehead,the eye orbits are rounder and the eyes are rather pronounced than sunk.The noose is also reduced to the point where it looks baby like and snub.
