The Somalis who live in the West may find themselves lumped with people who back home, they dont identify themselves with. Ask your Somali homeboys if there is a "Black solidarity" in Somalia...as in, when they head back home, do they consider a Kenyan/Nigerian/South African a fellow 'black' or not.

A south Sudanese once said (half jokingly, half not) that he considers Somalis pretty much half himself, half *name of a arab friend*. People here in duh ghetto do say nigga (neger) and Somalis say that shit all the time. They consider themselves black here and closest to other SSA muslims (among non-somalis that is). Everyone sees the difference, but it's more like the difference between Poles and Norwegians something like that. Clearly it doesn't matter what prejudices your parents had, the Somalis born where all kinds of folks live consider themselves pretty much black.

There is no proof that horners have any dravidian admixture.

For many Arabs, they regard the Somalis as part of the Arab world regardless on the fact that they're not ethnic Arabs. While they see them as simply east African Muslims, they don't put them in the same basket as the Bantus and other Blacks who are neither Muslims or have any interactions with the Arab world. Somalis culturally are the most similar to other Cushtics and Southern Arabians and other Muslims from Asia to a lesser extent than to other Africans.
