Once it was a town festival and there were some indian merchants, i was very drunk and walked up to them, because they fascinated me, and i said hello bros im an indian myself (that was 17 years ago and i didnt know as much about india as i do now i just knew them from town and movies), and they said no you are not indian. i said yes i am, and they said no maybe pakistani, i said no im indian, they said do you speak any indian languages i said no i dont. they said then you are not indian. i said but my grandfather was indian and they said what was his name, i didnt know any indian names and said his name was punjabi (because punjabi mc was popular at that time in the charts and i didnt know its not his name but his geographical region) i said my grandfathers name was punjabi and they laughed and said "you go away". i think they were sikhs though. then i went to another indian (i think a hindu he was shorter darker and had no turban) i said you are my brother and we have the same skin colour and he said "yes". they likely knew im roma though, they didnt said straight up im foreigner.
