Why do many Canadians sound like they're retarded?

I don't know. I came across her videos about living in Japan while looking at videos about foreigners living in Japan. It made me realize I'm the anti-Melki. I wouldn't want to live anywhere but the NYC Metro area. I'd freak the fuck out. Especially not Canada where apparently there is a large number of people who speak like they're slow. It sounds like a watered down version of a North Dakota accent.

Canadian English is so standard sounding many Canadians work as TV, and radio news broadcasters in the US, and some say News networks purposefully recruit Canadians for their relatively neutral accents.

She has an interesting grammar too (I'm at work can't give example). I still like her. She has many haters, but they're grumps and drama queens. Despite her flaws she is a good person and that's all that matters.

She uses the term 'smartness level', instead of intelligence, which is funny. I believe she's Anglo because she said in a video Japanese is the only foreign language she knows. But who knows. I had an MSN contact from Ontario once who had a Francophone mother and went to a bilingual school (some courses were given in French, others in English).

The joke's on you cuz the NYC metro fucking sucks. It's literally one of the ugliest parts of the country I've ever seen, except for some great institutions in Manhattan.
