Fernando Pessoa, José Saramago, Joao Fernandes Lavrador come to my mind right now. They have to be super famous worlwide by balls.

Fernando Pessoa, Camões and Saramago are probably only or overwhelmingly praised/famous/known in the West.

For example you don't see many Chinese reading Cervantes or Shakespeare, and we are already making the assumption that the average Chinese/Asian guy knows many Western artists.

I dont know why some historical figures have the disgrace of being famous by their names in English, like Magellan, Columbus or Isabella of Castile...
Fortunately two of my favourite characters keep their Spanish original names, Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro. Well, not sure but it could be that in Anglosphere they call him Hernán Cortez LOL
