The likelyhood of reverse migration back o Illyria is so slim it's sub-zero. But my point is not about Albanians I have a fair idea who you are my point are the Illyrians and when Illyrians stopped calling themselves as such and adopted Shqiptar which is Caucasian etymologically.
Dude, romans were brutal. They demolished Carthago and put a layer of salt on the whole land so that nothing would grow. But the people of carthage were not eliminated. A big chunk were enslaved and the ones left were assimilated. Greeks and egyptians were spared for god knows why. Illyrians probably went the same way as Carthaginians, but dont imagine that they were wiped off the earth, its costly and serves a lesser purpose than just simply enslaving and assimilating them... Now, as an albanian speaker, i constantly use latin words. If i were to exclude all latin in my speach, o would not be able to form a single sentence. Latin is like a clusterbomb in the albanian dictionary, its everywhere. An so is shqiptar, which comes from shqiptoi, which means to speak clearly. Shqiptar simply means albanophon and its latin root is excipio which means the same thing as shqiptoi.

That son of eagle bullshit comes from communist propaganda trying to unite a ottoman population.

According to Dr. Robert Elsie, that even after it's discovery back in 1998, the Vatican are still reluctant to let just anyone take a look at it. The work is rumoured to be published in the years to follow and stir quite a relovution in the world of Albanology...
I would love to read albanian from 1210 and see how i understand. Pal Engjulli's text from 1460 i understand perfectly.
