Not true, sure there was sectarian issues here and there, but they were not bad as now. As for ISIS, who are said to be "Sunni", the vast majority of their victims are not Shias, Christian or Yezidis, in fact they are Sunni Arabs, who form the bulk of ISIS victims. Plus Britain and America created the divide an conquer tactic and in 2003 the U.S supported miltant Shia groups, in which by 2006 a civil war was brewing. This was all for the interest of Israel as well.
