I'm from New York and got pulled over by the cops multiple times. She needs to get thicker skin. Cops are obviously gonna question you when they pull you over. It's not something to be traumatized over.

American cops have a bad rep because there have been unfortunate incidences where they have killed innocent people. They are otherwise for the most part a professional group not different to cops from other countries. Maybe they should be disarmed like the ones in the UK if you want to prevent deaths (and feel that the death toll at the hands of the cops is significant enough to warrant that), but they aren't really bad at doing their job in general. Anyone that says they are are just selectively reading the news which makes things seem worse than they actually are.

Judging from my experiences with US police (several members of my extended family are police or work with them) and police students, they get the dumbest, most violent, submissive, bottom barrel individuals, the kind of people who will just do what they're told without question. If you have any sense of individuality, concience, or morality, you won't make it past the academy. And even then, you're just biding your time before you get forced out by people more corrupt than you.
