but not all americans are 400 years in america, only a few, most are much more recent. but ok. i doubt they dont know who the gypsies are. gypsies are famous. even the japanese know them eventhough they might not met one in real life because they are not in japan.

It's not always the population size that makes people known internationally, but the impact people have had on the world, or their legacies, influential roles, power status, etc.

Exactly. Black Americans are only 13% of the USA, yet they are in nearly every commercial on tv in the states. Overrepresentation. But that's more about political correctness than anything else.

i think they should remain travellers, thats true to themselfes, there could be a gypsy passport and they can travell wherever they want, some roma want to get recognised "as non-terretorial nation" by the uno, but they never fought a war for land, and i dont think they ever will. or will claim terretories.

there are 1.000.000 gypsies in the USA, eventhough thats a small relatively like 0.5% of the population of USA, its the largest total population of gypsies anywhere in the world even in Romania there are less (but make up more because romania has less inhabitants). I dont know how many of them are in Mississipi.

1,000,000 is hard to see among a population of over 300 million. Unless they are grouped in an area, then they may be more visible.

It's intriguing that the Roma gypsies have managed to remain as non-conformists and preserve their own culture for so many centuries in Europe.

It is amazing. I think also it's amazing how the Jews have done the same and even got their old nation back and revived a near dead language. Also, people have told me it's amazing how my community has preserved its heritage, language and culture for 2 1/2 centuries in Louisiana.

This is a very different attitude than the Jews. But they are despised in many parts of Europe. Why stay in a place where they hate you? I never understood that.
