Two Greek results from Florina, West Macedonia. VERY Bulgarian shifted

At the same time we have to ask ourselves, were the ancient inhabitants of the Florina area Sicilian like? I really doubt it, they were probably even more northern shifted than ancient Greeks who lived further south.

I doubt they were. Anyway it is clear to me that all of the mainlanders compared to Sicily do shift toward NE Europe, but at least some Peloponnesians get closer to being like Sicilians and Cretans (and some Sicilians in the southeast of the island approach Peloponnesians). These mainlanders -- the Western Greece result the other day, the two from Thessaloniki, the one from Thessaly I posted last month, and the ones from Florina -- are all WAY outside of the possible range for any island and are clearly more like Bulgarians.

You used to think your result shifted north. Compared to these northerners, you're visibly southern.

So what do you think the northeastern euro component range was like in the ancient Greek mainland? I think we both agree that they were not Sicilian like. In my opinion, they would probably come up as half modern mainland Greek and half modern island Greek.

Even today? The people to whom these results belong have Greek names, not Slavic ones.

Still, compared to Cretans or Sicilians, or even to Peloponnesians these have a significant NE European shift, almost 30% on Dodecad K12b. This is 3x as high as in some Sicilians.

None of these people have Slavic names, but the presence of Bulgarians in Florina is not a secret. There is a tiny minority party which gets most of its' votes in Florina.

My guess is modern Peloponnesians, with 19-22% North Euro and about 10% SW Asian, are roughly a good proxy. Compare to the 25-30% North Euro in the north, and the 10-15% in Sicily.
