I believe he died not knowing he had run into a new land mass... Or he didn't want to believe since his contract with the Catholic Monarchy was based on the arriving to those remote countries.

On the other hand, many of the expedictionaries already suspected --in the following columbian journeys-- that those lands were new ones, and not China, nor Japan nor India.

I would agree on that. It feels like the Chinese cultural revolution all over again, but on American soil, and Antifa are the new Red Guards.

Hard for me to really feel sympathy for Columbus though, especially when you know the evil he personally did as a person. It contrasts greatly with my opinion of Robert E. Lee, who I consider to be an admirable human being overall.

I didn't mean Colombus worked for the british. But Brits went to America because they knew it was there, they knew it was there because Colombus discovered it.
