I hate columbus too.
I have reasons to hate him.
And none to like him for.

I agree, for the most part. That's why Columbus's popularity among Italian-Americans eclipses his popularity among Italians in Italy. Columbus is obviously an important figure in the discovery and colonization of the Americas. This is significant more so for us (Italian-Americans) than it is for Italians in Italy.
De Blasio certainly does not represent Italian-Americans. He's a radical leftist piece of shit. Most of us Italian-Americans, on the other hand, love this country.

During his time no one liked him. Even the spanish throne ousted him out of position because he was a genocider and mass murderer. Thats how bad he was even spanish monarc kicked him out.
His son painted him like a hero in a book. But no one thought he was actually a good person in his time. Its not his heritage. bill de blasio heritage is being mayor of ny. Or else he would be born in the carribean or latin america or spain because he dies in spain.

Columbus is a hero. Period. His discoveries commenced the European colonization of the Americas, a critical point in history that our great nation can trace its origins to. Technically, the Vikings may have been here first, but to make that argument as though it were significant misses the point entirely. The Viking presence in North America is just a footnote in history, because it did not lead to the development of our civilization in this hemisphere. That can be attributed to Columbus.
