Hungarian is a very composite language in terms of the origin of our vocabulary. According to a 2004 estimate by the Hungarian Academy this is how it stands:

    Uncertain 30%
    Uralic 21%
    Slavic 20%
    German 11%
    Turkic 9.5%
    Latin and Greek 6%
    Romance 2.5%
    Other known 1%

In my opinion it is highly surprising the low amount of Iranian words, since Proto-Hungarians mingled for centuries with Iranian tribes in the steppe area. Also the Uncertain category seems surprisingly high (possibly linguists made some progress since then in finding the roots of these words), meaning 1/3 of our words are of unknown origin. The rest of the percentages seem quite right.

Based on "Origins of the English language" (2010):
    1. Latin 29%
    1. French 29%
    3. Germanic (Old & Middle English, Old Norse, Dutch) 26%
    4. Greek 6%
    4. Other 6%
    6. derived from proper names 4%

For a Germanic language only a quarter of its words are actually Germanic, pretty remarkable fact! In a way quite in a similar situation with Hungarian.

But most of roman words pobably have equivalents in english.
I guess, they have different meaning field, but some people
claim, that romanisms can be replaced by it. This is probably
not stricktly about it, but has similar idea.

But many people when speaking English seem to prefer words of Romance origin when expressing themselves. There are surely exceptions also. And either way English became bombarded by foreign origin words like no other language in the past century, just because English became the lingua franca of the planet.
