I have noticed, how Serbians always try to present they are similar with Croatians, despite huge cultural, historical and genetical differences between them.

And the Serbians claim they hate Croatians, but still they want to be seen as similar, while Croatians always distance themself from the Serbs.


What is the reason for this phenomenom ? Is it orthodox jelaousy and inferiority complex towards western people ? Discuss!

I would also match the Croats more with Slovenes than Serbs; however there is somewhat overlap in some regions where both populations live closely like in Bosnia or the Croatia-Serbia border areas. But actually the cultural and historical gap is there with Croats leaning to West and Germanic people, and Serbs toward Russia.

My girlfriend does not like the Slovenians. But I think average Croatians do not hate Slovenian people, because both are part of the western civilisation.
