From my own personal experience, I think it's bc many if not most ppl look completely different in pics vs irl. I think that's what makes people guess differently by pic vs by seeing you face to face.

Bc it also happens to me lol, online many ppl knew right away I was Hungarian or Romanian, but NOBODY irl ever even thinks about those possibilities. Even Romanians here don't realize I am one of them. Weirdly enough, when they see my mom they know she is Romanian right away and start talking.

My guess would be that it's easier to focus on the finer features on a still image, as opposed to having a dynamic representation in front of you. It also helps that the guys here are well trained to spot regional features.
But even photos can be deceptive, as they can produce different outcomes depending on the camera and the lens. Here are my photos taken in the same year with 3 different cameras/lenses. One could argue that these are 3 different people.

My Origuess results anyway. I thought I would get more Northern Middle Eastern, but even turks on this guessed me as Latin American or Eastern/Southern European

No, in person, because online it's easier to guess correctly IMO. Especially if you ask on specialised forums like here.

But I think I tend to learn more towards irl opinions?? Bc yeah what you said might be true? But the way we look on pics isn't how we really look like, and only the others seeing us irl know what we really look like.

True also I had seen a lot of users of this forum on Origuess App lul. But as you can see 82% placed me wrong. A Moldovan guessed me as Moldovan, a Russian guessed me as Eastern Euro, an Italian guessed as Southern Euro. A Moroccan guessed as Moroccan, I think I have a very familiar face.

Actually I have been abroad to 6 different countries, but all of them were spanish-speaking countries from my region except for Brazil where they thought I was from Argentina, but that's all I can remember, I think I should pay more attention about it next time.

I was exagerrating surely, but my point was that different lenses can alter some key features. In 1 and 3 my face is oval, whereas in 2 it is more squareish. I personally see myself in the mirror like in 1 and 3, but my sister has been calling me square headed (cap patrat) all my life.

people on Origuess guessed me as Danish and German mostly while on here I didn't fool anyone. but real life guesses are most reliable, that's why I've only mentioned those in the other post.
