Eminem Unleashes Blistering Anti-Trump Rap—and Disowns Pro-Trump Fans

Eminem’s never been one to mince words. When the rapper has a target in sight, he snaps at them with glaringly harsh punch lines; he has a history of feuding with other rappers, as well as singers like Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, who have been subjected to some of his most misogynistic lyrics. (Carey, for her part, at least hit him with the rejoinder bop “Obsessed.”) But since Donald Trump’s election, the rapper has been squarely focusing his jabs on the White House. On Tuesday night’s BET Hip Hop Awards, he took things even further, releasing a four-and-a-half-minute rap screed against Trump, raking the president over the coals the entire time.

“Racism’s the only thing he’s fantastic for,” Eminem snarled—and that was only the beginning.

In the lengthy cypher, Eminem hit on just about every hot topic:

Nuclear war: “What we got in office now’s a kamikaze/That’ll prolly cause a nuclear holocaust/And while the drama pops/And he waits for shit to quiet down/He’ll just gas his plane up and fly around ‘til the bombing stops.”

The golf trips: “Says he wants to lower our taxes/Then who’s gonna pay for his extravagant trips/Back and forth with his fam to his golf resorts and his mansions?”

Colin Kaepernick and the N.F.L. protests: “Now if you’re a black athlete you’re a spoiled little brat for/Tryna use your platform or your stature/To try to give those a voice who don’t have one . . . That’s not disrespecting the military/Fuck that! This is for Colin, ball up a fist!”

The wall: “If he does build it, I hope it’s rock solid with bricks/‘Cause like him in politics, I’m using all of his tricks/’Cause I’m throwin’ that piece of shit against the wall ‘til it sticks.”

Eminem ended the verse with a strict message to any fans of his who are also pro-Trump: “I’m drawing in the sand a line: you’re either for or against/And if you can’t decide who you like more and you’re split/On who you should stand beside, I’ll do it for you with this: Fuck you!”

This isn’t the first time Eminem has lashed out at the Donald. In 2016, he released a nearly eight-minute rap, “Campaign Speech,” which included lines like, “Run the faucet, I’mma dunk/A bunch of Trump supporters underwater,” later calling Trump a “fuckin’ loose cannon.”

On the Big Sean song “No Favors,” Eminem also doubled down, calling Trump “a bitch.”

“I’ll make his whole brand go under,” he rapped.

Things were different between Trump and the rapper back in 2004. As a publicity stunt for his upcoming record Encore and Sirius XM station Shady 45, Eminem threw a fake election party for his alter ego, Slim Shady. Who did he bring out to support him? None other than Donald Trump, who had just started hosting The Apprentice on NBC. “I’m Donald Trump; I’m always right,” Trump said at the party, “endorsing” Eminem. “I know a winner when I see one, and Donald Trump is telling you right now that Slim Shady is a winner! He’s got brains, he’s got guts, and he’s got Donald Trump’s vote!”

Even at a mock event, it’s amazing how Trump found a way to say his own name more than anybody else’s.

This is the same guy who used to rap about the corruption of the mainstream media and it's celebrities. Bill Nye now Eminem, what a disapointment. My theory is that he's been pressured to do this. I've heard him freestyle before, and this doesn't sound like he 100% wanted to do this. It feels forced in a way. Can't be a rapper and have the hip hop world believe you support "literally Hitler". That's my two cents.
