Not every Indian owns high end hotels, many of them are just content with running small Days Inns or Motel 6's - these ones are cheap indeed but you can't expect every Gujarati motel owner to be willing to become some millionaire hotelier which many do.

As someone who lives in the city of San Francisco, you should just not talk. Every other hotel there is owned by us. I even know one who has a Chinese guy working the night shift, and several with Asian general managers working under them.

The entire Indian family works at these motels and it really is mostly motels, which I refer to as brothels. You know that you made a big mistake in choosing a motel when there is a mirror on the ceiling over the bed.
