Forbidden Kingdom reminds me a lot of Summoning, actually. I'd like to hear some decent ideological black metal like Gorgoroth pulling something like this together. I wonder where Varg's politics are these days.

You Finns had a good Death Metal scene in the old days: Demigod, Abhorrence, Convulse, Depravity, Funebre...

Nordic countries are known by Black Metal bands and nobody remembers the old Death Metal scene.

I think it has a lot to do with how Death Metal has kind of faded into Viking Metal. Especially here in the States, we identify Death Metal with the US and Black Metal and Viking Metal with Scandinavia, even though without Scandinavia there would be no Death Metal scene in the US.
